Konetec Motors

Founded in 2018 by the Aimtec Group, Konetec Motors was born with a clear and ambitious mission: to make mobility accessible to everyone. In a constantly evolving automotive market, Konetec Motors aims to stand out for its ability to offer low-cost vehicles without compromising on quality, safety, and innovation. The key to Konetec Motors' success lies in the synergy between the extensive use of artificial intelligence and the advanced technologies of the Zughumi Group.

Konetec Motors' vision is to revolutionize the South American, Asian, Eurasian, African, and Southern European automotive markets with affordable and reliable vehicles. Through the integration of artificial intelligence in every phase of production, from engineering to design and logistics, Konetec can optimize processes, reduce costs, and continuously improve the quality of its vehicles.

The strategic alliance with the Zughumi Group has allowed Konetec Motors to access cutting-edge technologies, ensuring that their vehicles are not only affordable but also equipped with the latest innovations in terms of safety, energy efficiency, and connectivity. This combination of technologies has made it possible to produce a range of cars that perfectly meets the needs of the markets in which it operates.

Konetec Motors' vehicles are designed to be versatile and robust, ideal for handling the diverse road and climate conditions of South American, Asian, Eurasian, African, and Southern European countries. Thanks to their efficiency and low maintenance costs, these vehicles represent a practical and affordable solution for millions of consumers.

Despite focusing on emerging markets, Konetec Motors has started importing some of its specific models to Europe, with particular attention to Italy and Spain. This expansion demonstrates the brand's commitment to grow and adapt to new challenges, always keeping customer satisfaction at the core of its philosophy.

KONETEC AKIRA

Launched in 2018, the Konetec Akira is the first car built by the new brand. The Akira is presented as an economical and practical city car, with stylistic features almost reminiscent of a minivan, to ensure interior space and cargo capacity. For the main target markets, the car was offered with the following engines:

- 1.0 12v three-cylinder naturally aspirated MPI 60 hp, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This is the most economical version;

- 1.2 16v four-cylinder naturally aspirated MPI 75 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission;

- 1.4 16v four-cylinder naturally aspirated, 90 hp with LPG system and 5-speed manual transmission;

- 1.4 16v four-cylinder turbo with 150 hp, 6-speed manual or 6-speed DCT. A sporty version for the Brazilian market.

For the Chinese market, only a 1.5 four-cylinder paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT system is available.

For the versions imported into the EU, the car uses engines and platforms already homologated by the Zughumi group. In fact, the European versions are only available with three-cylinder turbo LPG engines of 1.0 and 1.6 liters, producing 100 and 150 horsepower respectively, paired exclusively with a 5 or 6-speed manual transmission. The European versions feature a single comprehensive trim level, with only the color and wheel design (in addition to the engine) being selectable, and are equipped with all required safety systems (which are absent in the economical versions for other markets).

The car will be withdrawn from the European market starting in July 2024 due to stringent regulations.

KONETEC RODEO-XK

In the second half of 2018, the city car with a cross-like appearance called Rodeo-XK made its debut. Staying true to Konetec's affordable philosophy, it aimed to expand the lineup with an even more compact and versatile urban vehicle. It was offered with various engine options (depending on the region):
- 1.0 naturally aspirated MPI with 60 hp, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine was intended for the ultra-economic version targeted at less demanding markets;
- 1.0 EcoDrive3 turbo with 100 hp, also available with LPG, derived from Zughumi; available with front-wheel drive or 4x4, and paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6- or 7-speed automatic transmission.

Starting from 2021, it has been sold in Europe exclusively with the AMH-1 system, Aimtec Mild Hybrid 1, which features a 1-liter internal combustion engine paired with a small electric motor placed in the transmission, providing 8 horsepower. This electric motor helps boost acceleration power, maintains auxiliary systems when the engine is off during short stops handled by the stop&start system, and recharges the small battery during deceleration, downhill driving, and braking thanks to the electronic engine brake. Therefore, this version, at a base price (tax-free) in Europe of 14,990 EUR, offers a total of 108 horsepower (100 from the internal combustion engine and 8 from the electric motor), front-wheel drive, a 6-speed manual transmission (automatic transmissions are no longer available), and comes with a fully-equipped package as standard.

Konetec Keai

In 2019, the two-seater city car Keai was born, a name that means "cute" in Chinese. The vehicle is offered with various engine options, depending on the target market. Although the initial intention was to design the car with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, for cost containment reasons, the decision was made to go with a traditional front-engine, front-wheel-drive configuration.

- 660 cc SuperTurbo: Designed as a kei car, the SuperTurbo is powered by a 660cc two-cylinder turbocharged engine capable of delivering 70 horsepower. The reported fuel consumption is 30 km/l.

- 1.0 MPI naturally aspirated with 65 hp, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.

- 1.0 EcoDrive3 with 100 hp, also available in a GPL version, which can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

- 1.6 Turbo with 115 horsepower, derived from Zughumi, paired with a sports package that includes a tuned suspension, side skirts, upgraded interior, and sport seats.
