In 2000 the Onechoice Motor Company was founded in California, a company that wants to distinguish itself from other brands in the automotive sector for its marketing strategy: to produce and sell only one product at a time per range. In fact, Onechoice refers to the fittings available for a car model: only one.
The company's motto is: << Life is fantastic. Don't waste it thinking about >>. Its peculiarity is how it manages to create a vehicle that combines the needs, standards and tastes of multiple continents.
The company immediately started investing in EcoDrive engines to obtain licenses, as at the time it was the agreement par excellence for start-up companies in the automotive sector. The first years he faced them with several joint ventures.
The official Onechoice logo was chosen in 2001 by the company's internal designers. The logo is a three-pointed crown, the central point of which is also a number one. The idea came from a review of the first "Hope" car, which was defined as "the number one queen of cars designed for novice drivers".
In 2003, the shares of Onechoice were distributed as follows: 63.5% Onebank (the one who founded and financed the brand), 5.1% Corvo Automobili, 3.9% MVR Automobiles, 2% SPJ Aguilera Automotive, 0.5% Gionelli. There remains a staggered 25% in many other companies and individuals.
In 2005, following a financial agreement between the banking giant Onebank and Guardline Motor Company, at the time in financial difficulties, Onechoice began not only to use Guardline engines, but also to create high-displacement engines based on Guardline. Several economists accused Onebank of having gone out of its banking skills to exploit at will the economic situations of other brands in their favor for their secondary interests to banking activities, that is, the actual management of an owned car company.
In 2010 Onechoice encountered a very high and unexpected request for armored vehicles in collaboration with Daersk, therefore it decided to strengthen the partnerships and to devote itself more to the world of work and armored vehicles, to the detriment of sports and luxury vehicles, which they sold much less than armored ones.
In 2011 the total armor of the Onechoice range of vehicles begins: any vehicle of the Onechoice range will be armored. Onebank also founded G.O.S., or Groupe Onechoice Security, in the same year.
After the poor sales of the Hope presented in 2011, the automotive division entered a deep crisis which led to the dismissal of many employees, the interruption of production and the intervention of huge financing by Onebank to avoid bankruptcy.
In 2014, Gordon Schwell, an already well-known figure in the field of automotive brand recovery, was appointed as the new president. After several years of negotiations, projects and market research, in 2018 the brand returns to the game with the presentation of the new Qatana, created in collaboration with the Zughumi group, not surprisingly headed by Gordon Schwell's cousin.
In 2020, the technical administrator Gordon Schwell was replaced by Tristan La Garre, the son-in-law of one of the Onebank partners and the new husband of one of Francis Lousebanne's daughters. However, in 2021, numerous scandals emerged. La Garre, in addition to adopting detrimental policies for the company, squandered a significant portion of its assets on company dinners and personal expenses that were inappropriately declared as business expenses.
In 2021, with the launch of Onechoice Hope, the new OneRent service will be inaugurated, which would allow you to rent company cars scattered around the city directly from your smartphone.
As early as 2022, the company's financial conditions became extremely critical, with the company burdened by debts. In 2023, the company experienced a severe financial crash and was sold to a group of Russian automobile enthusiasts who acquired its rights, know-how, agreements, practically everything except the brand name, which was closely tied to the Onebank conglomerate.
In 2024, the brand Qatana was born in Russia, and simultaneously, the Onechoice brand ceased to exist.
