HISTORY

The automotive company Zughumi Motors was born in Archana (China) in 1994. The brand's sole objective is to offer good vehicles at the lowest possible price, with a communist logic: the brand is born thanks to the Chinese Government, who asked a company which is not private but statal. The Chinese brand has always used generic engines in joint venture with other companies, preferring engines with very low consumption but with high efficiency. The vehicles have a simple design and poor materials, in order to keep production costs low, however the actual quality of the engine and of the vehicle itself is not lacking in reliability.

From 1997 to 2001 the company faced a huge crisis that led to its closure and reopening later. The Chinese government was unable to control production factors and make the product attractive to the market, causing a major bankruptcy that the Chinese government also attempted to hide. However, the vehicles produced before the bankruptcy were not scrapped, and today it is still possible to find and buy them, even in like new condition.

In 2002 Zughumi Motors was reborn as a private company, however it was controlled by individuals in the service of the Chinese government.

In 2004 the new team at the head of Zughumi reset the company, letting go of the old projects and putting out of production the previous models to rebuild Zughumi.  Investments were initially made in EcoDrive and TurboDrive engines. The new CEO is Michael Creklinton, an English businessman: he worked in past for various important brands in automotive sector. People and media started calling him "Michael Zughumi".

In 2005 Zughumi Motors acquired the Zughumi Electronics group, which was engaged in the production of household appliances and electronic objects.

In 2006 the Zughumi Group founded the ZEER brand (Zughumi Electronics Engine Research), and in 2007 the ZEIDR brand (Zughumi Electronics Innovative Design Research).

The ZEER brand deals with producing the motors directly within the core, partially avoiding partnerships with rival brands or third-party suppliers, while ZEIDR deals with seeking new designs and forming a union with the classic Zughumi style.

In 2009, in the midst of the European economic crisis, Zughumi repurchased all the shares bought by Eugatti, and acquires 7% of them.  This maneuver demonstrated how Zughumi was becoming a functioning and economically sound brand.

In 2010 Michael "Zughumi" is in serious conflicts of interest with the Chinese government, and decides to move the company's registered office to the Netherlands, keeping the vehicle production in China.

In 2012, the Chinese government decides to give the administrator carte blanche, as long as he legally brings Zughumi back to China.

Zughumi's registered office therefore returns to China and resumes work.

In the same year (2012), President Michael Zughumi is assassinated under mysterious circumstances, and the new CEO is Adam Schwell, who immediately suggests investing in ZEER engines.

Adam Schwell made the following statements for his business plan: "China and the Chinese do not have the same production experience in the automotive field as we Europeans. So I decided to exploit the Eugatti partnership not only for economic maintenance, but also  for development and research. China will have to do what it does best: produce, with quality and low prices, to make the brand a winner and a pride for the Chinese, offering jobs to their people. But to make this possible,  a competent leader is needed in the field, and I, having worked for years in Eugatti and other important brands, do the right thing for the company. I also declare that we will be able to stand up to the most famous German brands. "

In 2013 Adam Schwell decided to spin off the ZEER group and rename it to "Zughumi Eugatti Engineering Research".  His statements on the matter were: "Eugatti engineers are the fulcrum of the development of the new engines. Zughumi Electronics is a company that deals with automotive infotainment, not engine development and research. Therefore I believe it is essential to clarify the part.  which concerns the heart of Zughumi, and to separate it from the group to protect it from the crisis the company is facing. "  Although many Chinese exponents did not like the choice at all, Schwell was convinced of his decision.

In 2014 Adam Schwell announced the new series of engines called Z-Tech, which are 3-cylinder engines equipped with VVL and VVT to minimize fuel consumption and emissions.

Zughumi Motors has expanded its headquarters to the island of Taiwan, keeping production in China.

The Zughumi group is actively involved in the development of GenShar platforms.

Zughumi has helped and signed agreements with the EcoDrive and RangeDrive engine ranges, and starting from 2017 it begins to acquire shares in Janeiro Automotive, sharing projects and developing cars in joint ventures, which will also be sold in the Zughumi conventioned stores.

In 2018 Zughumi begins to make advantageous agreements with Aimtec, for the use of engines and advertising.

In 2019, the CEO of Zughumi launches the "ZUGHUMI NEW ERA" plan, which includes a total reform of the Zughumi group in order to attract as many customers as possible and build customer loyalty.  Specifically, it includes the development of new chassis on which to base the vehicles and the adoption of new engines that are increasingly efficient and performing.

Also in 2019 the ZEV (Zughumi Electric Vehicles) brand, founded in the previous decade to make electric projects and concepts, is converted to Zughumi Emergency Vehicles for the production of emergency, military and state vehicles.

Since 2020, the Zughumi group controls the majority of the English company Micropassion Automotive.
